PFA Wellbeing services
Members of the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) have a range of fully funded therapeutic services available to them, as outlined on the PFA website.
-
Contact with a member of the PFA wellbeing team (via phone, email or text).
-
A call from the team to discuss presenting issues and initiate the process of finding a suitable therapist. Where possible members will be matched with a therapist who has experience and expertise relevant to the presenting issue. Members will also choose between online or in-person sessions.
-
The member will then begin a course of 6-12 sessions. These sessions can be tailored to work around a player’s training schedule.
-
A range of talking therapies will be available to help members identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts and behaviours.
-
Therapy will conclude and members will review its effectiveness with their therapist. If additional support is required a member of the PFA Wellbeing team will be in touch.
THE PROCESS
At Playerbook,we act as an independent referral hub, ensuring players are fully informed about the services the PFA provide. If you feel you would benefit from additional wellbeing support, we can help guide you through you next steps.
